Advanced Cryptography Research Lab
The ACR Lab was officially launched on February 9, 2026 in Hanoi as a joint research initiative between the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) and the Vietnam Government Information Security Commission. It builds on years of collaboration between the two organizations in cryptographic research and high-quality talent development.
The lab’s mission is to translate advanced mathematical knowledge into tools for protecting Vietnam’s national digital infrastructure — serving as a critical link between fundamental research and real-world application, particularly in the area of post-quantum cryptography.
The lab is headed by Assoc. Prof. Lê Minh Hà (Managing Director of VIASM) and co-headed by Dr. Đỗ Xuân Thành, with a distinguished Scientific Advisory Board comprising Prof. Phan Dương Hiệu (Télécom Paris, Chief Advisor), Dr. Nguyễn Quốc Toàn, and Dr. Hoàng Văn Thức (Vietnam Government Information Security Commission). The ACR Lab also aims to bridge the domestic and international Vietnamese cryptography communities, strengthen international cooperation, and enhance the quality of cryptographic education and research in Vietnam.
Research Topics
- Privacy-preserving cryptosystems
